CancerJune 21 - July 21
Cancer, remember that your daily rituals are what anchors you. The Moon is still in Virgo, inviting us to connect with our natural rhythms until Tuesday night when it shifts into Libra, bringing awareness to what it means to be in relationship with ourselves and the world around us. A shift in energy occurs on Tuesday, when Mars leaves its home sign and enters the slow moving, pleasure seeking sign of Taurus until August 20th. Try not to get stuck in the surface of things, especially when you’re feeling unsure or weak. Remember to always check in with your core. Don’t overwork yourself or exhaust your energy. Check in on your energy levels from time to time, remain connected so that you can fulfill your needs and be more efficient. Mercury also leaves its home sign to enter your nurturing, safety seeking sign until July 19th. Activating communication, and bringing more movement and engagement into your personal changes and sense of self.
Key Themes: Celebrating yourself, finding your flow, reigniting joy.
Cancer, your solar return is coming up and you’re at the precipice of a brand new, beautiful chapter.
Last month carried a distinctly intense feel to it – due to the powerful eclipses. These always impact you profoundly Cancer, because your planetary ruler is the moon. You’re in a process of evolution and this month will be one to celebrate your journey so far.
Bringing grounding waves of clarity, we first have Mercury (planet of communication) concluding its retrograde in Taurus on June 3rd. You might notice a slowing, calming and balancing of your mental state – and this definitely something that you can continue to cultivate Cancer. Pay close attention to your habits with technology and social media. Are you checking your phone first and last thing at night? You’re more than aware that it’s the little habits that impact your wellbeing in a big way. Use your discipline and discernment to make the best choices for yourself.
This theme could be emphasized further from June 4th, with Saturn beginning its retrograde, all the way until October 23rd. This retrograde will be shaking themes up on a societal level, as it takes place in the sign of the rule-breaker: Aquarius. On a global scale, we might witness this playing out as a breaking down of old structures, unhealthy leadership, and corruption. There may be some major shifts in financial systems.
Cancer for you personally, there may arise a journey of reflection regarding your unique place in the world – on the deepest of levels. You might start noticing the underlying dynamics of the relationships and environments that surround you. Pay close attention to what feels good and transparent, versus murky and manipulative… then shift away from the latter.
The Sagittarius Full Moon on June 14th, will be the perfect time to close out any toxic relationships and habits. Why not have a ritual around this? Find gratitude for how they served you in the past (even if it was just a false perception), and then make the conscious decision to let go. You’re ready for what’s next.
Plus, it’s the perfect time to shed anything that doesn’t serve you – because on June 21st the Sun enters your magical sign, and Cancer season begins! This time of the year is about Celebrating yourself, with a capital C. It’s time to reconnect with the energy of your inner child. Spoil yourself, have fun – and drop any guilt about putting yourself first. You deserve this!
The New Moon in your sign on June 28th will be a highly powerful time to use the positive energy you’ve cultivated, to draw in even more. This night, and days surrounding it – could be powerful for journaling and reflecting on the next steps towards your dreams, as well as how to align your inner energy with their external manifestation.

Ruler: The Moon
Where You’ll Find Them: Walking down the beach, cooking soul food, snuggling in bed
What They Avoid: Confrontation, deadlines, and overly aggressive situations
Cancer, the fourth sign of the zodiac, is quite possibly the most sensitive — but you wouldn’t outwardly know it. Cancer’s symbol is The Crab, and this explains their tendency to hide in their shell whenever the outward world gets too tough to handle. As a Water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer is deeply emotional, and easily absorbs the vibes in their environment. Cancer is full of compassion for the world, particularly the underprivileged, the needy, children, animals, and the oppressed. There is a nostalgic element to Cancer that can lead to them living in the past and having trouble letting go.
Professionally, Cancer is a great collaborator and team-player. However, sometimes they remain in the background for far too long, out of fear of stepping into the spotlight. Cancers make incredible artists, but they can be overly protective of their work rather than sharing their art with the world. If Cancer is able to overcome such shyness, their art and transparency can heal the world. Cancer’s nurturing spirit also makes them great therapists, teachers, interior designers, cooks, and spiritual healers. There’s something about Cancer that is full of wisdom, making them old souls. That’s why people may joke around and call them the grandparents of the zodiac, even in their youth.
Cancer loves to take care of those they love, so having a Cancer as a friend is a true blessing. What Cancer must learn, however, is to establish healthy boundaries and not let their generosity or kindness be taken advantage of. Sometimes Cancer gives away too much of their energy, and if it’s not reciprocated it can feel very painful. Instead of directly letting the person know about that pain, Cancer may resort to passive-aggressive behavior, and that only exacerbates the problem. Cancer therefore will benefit from being more honest and assertive in friendships and relationships.
As a lover, while Cancer may be very slow to trust and open up to you, they are definitely some of the biggest believers in love. Many Cancers dream of having a family and being married to their soulmate, and this can lead to them becoming deeply invested in the relationships they pursue, to the point of sometimes being clingy or possessive of their lover(s). This can sometimes scare their lover(s) away, but at other times it reassures their lover(s) of Cancer’s loyalty. Whatever the case may be, Cancer would benefit from directing all of that love and attention they offer others back to themselves first and foremost. Cancer’s greatest lesson is to put their own self first and cater to their own needs consistently. In doing so, they’re able to extend the purest type of love into the lives of those around them.
