Skymates, today’s the 4th of July, and while some Americans were celebrating America’s independence on July 4, 1776, millions were still enslaved. As an African and American astrologer who’s aware of our ability to reflect on the past to co-create a better future, it’s important that we continue to own up to humanity’s shadows as much as we celebrate our light. Today, I invite you (particularly non-Black readers) to send reparations to descendants of enslaved Africans — humans whose ancestors were toiling away on fields on this date in 1776.
