CapricornDecember 22 - January 19
This weekend’s Quarter Moon in Taurus encourages us to take a look at the new moon intentions we set a week ago and refine them. There could also be some initial challenges popping up, and we’re being asked to practice patience in the face of delays or mix-ups. Capricorn, this wknd is about integrating more fun and ease into your life. You’ve probably been taking life quite seriously (even more than usual) during your ruler Saturn’s final stretch in Aquarius — but part of your ascension should be connected to the spirit of play. Your inner child is wanting to come out and take the lead, so the part of you that’s focused on reparenting yourself should take a seat at the playground and peacefully watch your inner child have the time of their life. It’s what you deserve!

What a wild ride 2022 has been, after two years deep in a life changing pandemic, we’ve been able to start taking steps out of a life with so many restrictions (depending on the reality of each part of the world) and step into a life where enjoying the outside world and planning for a future seems more tangible. None of us are the same as who we were three years ago, the collective trauma is real, but so are the ways in which we’re thriving to heal and mend, collectively and individually.
We start December with nebulous Neptune going direct in Pisces on the 3rd, sparking our imaginations and our ability to dream. During the past five months you’ve been questioning how you express yourself. This has helped you come into a fresh perspective and refine your message. Now it’ll be time to trust your intuition from this new found point of view, and connect with the magic available in everyday circumstances.
On the 6th, Mercury, the messenger, leaves the expansive fire of Sagittarius, to enter your earthy focus of Capricorn, followed by Venus, the goddess of love, doing the same on the 9th. This happens in your area of self-discovery and identity. This will be great for your personal goals, as you’ll have just the right words to describe and jot down your long-term plans. Trust yourself, trust your decisions, and go forward with what you want.
The last Full Moon of 2022 is happening in Gemini on the 7th at 11:08 pm EST, reminding us, in the midst of so much chatter, to be in deep exchange with ourselves. Illuminating your area of daily rituals, work, health and wellness practices, this Full Moon asks, how do you keep yourself healthy in the midst of deadlines and the many things that keep your stress levels high? This Full Moon asks you to be practical while acknowledging the needs of your body.
On the 20th, Jupiter leaves Pisces for good and will enter Aries, starting a new twelve year cycle of expansion and wisdom around the zodiac. Just as plants need repotting once their roots have expanded beyond their pot, so do you. How can you bring more spaciousness into the places and the bonds that hold you and nurture you? Move things around, get the energy flowing.
We welcome Capricorn season on the 21st! Beginning with the winter solstice, the sun’s journey through Capricorn reminds us of the power of our commitments. Followed by the last New Moon of the year happening in your sign on the 23rd at 5:17 am EST, bringing a breath of fresh air into your personal goals, journey of self-discovery and sense of self. You are worthy of freedom, and this New Moon urges you to allow yourself more room to move and roam free. This is a time for renewal. Don’t try to force things. Allow for that process to occur.
On the 23rd, Chiron, the wounded healer, will be going direct in Aries in your area of home, family and ancestry. What old wounds are coming up? And how are you addressing them? Chiron is here to help you process, release, transform and resignify your foundational stories and ailments.
2022 comes to an end with Mercury going retrograde in your sign on the 29th. The end of the year will be asking us to review our commitments, to see how much we truly want to be invested in them. Keep this in mind when making your new year’s resolutions. In your case there will be a special focus on self-perception, how you view the world, how the world views you, your journey of self-discovery, and your personal goals and aspirations.
Ruling Planet: Saturn, the Planet of Challenge
Where You’ll Find Them: Working their butt off, planning for retirement, stacking their money
What They Avoid: Laziness, procrastination, small talk
Capricorn, the 10th sign of the zodiac, is often the most hard-working and ambitious. In fact, Capricorn would benefit from not taking their selves or their lives as seriously they do — but that’s way easier said than done. They were born to be successful, and they feel a huge drive to surpass their own expectations and crush all of their goals. But unlike some super assertive signs, Capricorn isn’t extremely flashy when it comes to their determined nature. They keep it really low-key, only speaking when they feel like what they have to say improves upon the silence, and only laughing when they truly mean it. Capricorn keeps it real, even if it’s too real for the masses to handle, and that’s what makes them so special and unforgettable. The sarcastic and cynical Capricorn plays absolutely no games.
When you ask a Capricorn what they want to achieve, the list will be endless, and it will be extremely impressive. Capricorns thrive in positions of authority, such as being a business person, a lawyer, an entrepreneur, a principal or administrator, etc…They don’t do as well when it comes to taking orders from others, and that’s mostly because Capricorn does a much better job of calling the shots — they intuitively know what must be done to get the best possible results and they wouldn’t want to waste any time trying out other methods. Even if Capricorn works for someone else, they often become distinguished team members who are given leadership positions.
Having a Capricorn as a friend means that you have a constant shoulder to lean on. But don’t think that means cry on — Capricorn has little tolerance for people who feel sorry for themselves. Capricorn is the zodiac sign that experiences the most challenging experiences in their lifetime, but that also makes them the wisest, strongest and most mature of all the signs. Because Capricorn has such high standards for their own life journey, they know what it means to fight and to be a warrior, and they will love you in a tough-love manner to teach you to also stay strong amidst adversity.
As a lover, Capricorn has to constantly work on tearing down the walls they so carefully built. Capricorn must avoid letting their workaholic tendencies cause a rift in any relationship they do begin. Capricorn is best suited for a relationship where their partner agrees to let them pursue their passions and independent interests, and where they can feel motivated and inspired by their partner. They can’t be with someone who is unsure about their life direction or who holds them back from going after their ultimate goal. Still, Capricorn’s romantic lesson is to avoid trying to check off all the items of what an “ideal match” looks like, and to open up to the variety of possibilities that the Universe may present them with. Sometimes the high standards that Capricorn impose are more liberating than anything. Capricorn can shock their lover by loving them uninhibitedly, and without skepticism. It takes a very special kind of lover to see that side of Capricorn. It’s worth the patience and effort.
